Digit Demo Revisited

Here’s a follow up message about Digit Demo…

A subscriber called Carla wrote:

"News for you Dr. Bedwell. Your toll-free number is "not" on the original email. My co-workers and I looked for the answer somewhere in the email."

In my reply, I highlighted some important Perspective Power principles. I trust you’ll find them useful:

Hi Carla,

Thank you for your eMail. I love getting responses to my Perspective Power Messages.

A fresh perspective doesn’t always immediately give you answers - although it can in a moment of breakthrough insight - it gives you the means to look at the problem from multiple angles in order to find answers.

The point is, while you continue to look at Digit Demo from the perspective of a math problem it remains impossible to solve. Finding a solution requires that you flex your Perspective Power; look at the problem from different angles.

Let’s review…

"If you recheck yesterday’s message, you’ll immediately notice a reference to my toll-free phone number at the bottom of the page."

I didn’t say the toll-free number was itself written within the eMail. I did however provide:

1. A big clue to help people reframe the problem "Please call our toll-free line for reprint permission."

2. A direct link to my Web site: www.SteveBedwell.com

3. A banner at the top of the eMail with two inch high letters proclaiming "Perspective Power". It’s likely that the solution will involve a radical shift from your initial point of view.

On a more serious note: "My co-workers and I looked for the answer somewhere in the email."

That’s exactly what we all do in ‘real life’. We look in the obvious places for solutions. In fact, the best solutions are found in unexpected places. For example, next time you face a challenge in the office, consider a solution that’s worked in your home life and apply it in the work setting.

Please give my best wishes to your co-workers. I’m really looking forward to delivering the keynote address at your Indiana Hospital & Health Association conference later in the year.

Warm regards,

Steve
